	6	+	WHEREAS, Kathleen Long retired as a mathematics professor at
	7	+	Dallas College Brookhaven Campus on December 31, 2022, drawing to a
	8	+	close an exceptional career that spanned 23 years; and
5	9		WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at Dallas College
6		-	Brookhaven, Ms. Long distinguished herself as a developmental
7		-	~~math~~ instructor; passionate about her work in the classroom, she
	10	+	Brookhaven, Ms. Long distinguished herself as a developmental math
	11	+	instructor; passionate about her work in the classroom, she
8	12		inspired countless students in their lives and careers; in
9	13		recognition of her skill and dedication, she was awarded a
10	14		2013-2014 Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Excellence in Teaching
11	15		Award from the Dallas County Community College District; and
12	16		WHEREAS, Ms. Long earned a bachelor of science degree from
13		-	West Texas State University in 1986 and a master of science
14		-	~~degree~~ from Texas Woman's University in 2000; and

	18	+	from Texas Woman's University in 2000; and
15	19		WHEREAS, Kathleen Long has demonstrated the spirit and
16		-	commitment that are the hallmarks of our best educators, and she
17		-	~~may~~ indeed take pride in a career well spent as she embarks on the
18		-	~~next~~ exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
19		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the ~~State of~~ Texas~~, 88th~~
20		-	~~Legislature,~~ hereby congratulate Kathleen Long on her retirement
21		-	~~as a~~ mathematics professor at Dallas College Brookhaven Campus and
	20	+	commitment that are the hallmarks of our best educators, and she may
	21	+	indeed take pride in a career well spent as she embarks on the next
	22	+	exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
	23	+	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
	24	+	hereby congratulate Kathleen Long on her retirement as a
	25	+	mathematics professor at Dallas College Brookhaven Campus and
22	26		extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
23	27		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
24		-	prepared for Ms. Long as an expression of high regard from the
