| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |

| 6 | 6 | | memories of Mary Martha West of Mineola, who passed away on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | October 24, 2022, at the age of 79; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Robert Bonsil Dykes and Mary |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lorraine Padgett Sullivan, Mary West was born on March 28, 1943, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in Mineola and grew up with two sisters, Brenda and Cathy, and a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | brother, Butch; she shared a rewarding family life with her |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | husband, James Donald West, and her three children, Damon, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Kristal, and Kimberly; with the passing years, she delighted in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | seeing her family grow to include numerous grandchildren and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A valued member of her community, Mrs. West owned |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Diet Center in Mineola for a time; in her leisure hours, she |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | enjoyed hobbies ranging from reading and playing dominos to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | dancing and bowling; moreover, she was an active congregant of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the First Baptist Church in Mineola; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mary West led a life of caring devotion to her loved |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | ones, and although she is deeply missed, she will forever remain a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | vibrant presence for those who were fortunate enough to know her; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Martha West |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |

| 30 | 30 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
