| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Duncanville High School football team, which |

| 4 | 4 | | recently won the 2022 University Interscholastic League Class 6A |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Division I state championship title; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Duncanville Panthers were victorious in their |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2022 appearance at the Class 6A Division I finals; the team |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | defeated the North Shore Mustangs by a score of 28-21 on December |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 17, 2022, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, winning their first |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | state championship since 1998; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | talent and perseverance throughout the school year, ending the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | season with a 15-0 record; the members of this championship team |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | can take pride in their outstanding performance; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Head Coach Reginald Samples and with the guidance of Interim |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Athletic Director Kenya Landers, Principal Michael McDonald, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Duncanville Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Marc |

| 19 | 19 | | Smith, the Duncanville Panthers have developed exceptional |

| 20 | 20 | | teamwork and discipline; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In addition, the Panthers received invaluable |

| 22 | 22 | | support throughout the season from the team's training staff |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and managers, as well as from assistant coaches Tray Allen, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Ramel Borner, Xavier Brown, Charles Davis, Jason Garrett, |

| 25 | 25 | | Patrick Hemphill, Odell James, Xavier Joe, Justin Magazine, |

| 26 | 26 | | Randy Martinez, James Mitchell, Todd Peterman, Ryan Polite, |

| 27 | 27 | | Gabe Samuels, Antwoine Shelton, Myke Sisson, Jeff Sowells, |

| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, The students and staff of Duncanville High School |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 34 | 34 | | Legislature, hereby commend the players, coaches, and staff of |

| 35 | 35 | | the Duncanville High School football team on the team's |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | successful season and congratulate them on winning the 2022 UIL |

| 37 | 37 | | Class 6A Division I state championship; and, be it further |

| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
