| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Del Mar College for its many contributions to the |

| 4 | 4 | | community of the Coastal Bend region and to designate March 22, |

| 5 | 5 | | 2023, as Del Mar College Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Del Mar College provides high-quality instruction |

| 7 | 7 | | in a wide range of academic and technical disciplines for its |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 13,600 degree- and licensure-seeking students and its 7,100 |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | continuing education students; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The college's business, occupational, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | technical students earn higher than average incomes for their |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | professions in their first year after graduation, and on average, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 90 percent of Del Mar College graduates seeking licensure for |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | their professional credentials pass their state or national |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | certification examinations; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding institution offers a first-class |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | education at a reasonable cost to the people of the Coastal Bend |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | region; the college is truly deserving of special recognition for |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | its positive effect on the growth and prosperity of the region; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 22, 2023, as Del Mar College |

| 23 | 23 | | Day at the State Capitol and commend the administration, faculty, |

| 24 | 24 | | staff, and board of regents of Del Mar College on their |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | commitment to excellence in education and extend to them best |
|---|
