2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize Lee Clay on the occasion of his 77th birthday on March
4	8		10, 2023; and
5	9		WHEREAS, An exemplary Texas citizen and a treasured member
6	10		of his community, Lee Clay was born in 1946 and now resides on his
7	11		ranch in Morgan Mill; and
8	12		WHEREAS, A retired certified public accountant, Lee is an
9	13		active member of his community and has devoted his time and
10	14		energy to serving many organizations in Erath County and the
11	15		surrounding area; a devout Christian who practices his faith in
12	16		his daily life, Lee welcomes various guests to his ranch,
13	17		including missionaries, community organizations, and service
14	18		groups; he has hosted Christ Chapel Bible Church Pure Adventure
15	19		retreats, the Freedom Shield Foundation, which provides
16	20		emergency housing and resources for trafficking victims, and
17	21		Iron Centurion, an organization whose mission is to prepare
18	22		Christian men to be supportive leaders who will help to
19	23		strengthen families, churches, and communities; and
20	24		WHEREAS, Lee is a beloved resident of the Morgan Mill area,
21	25		and his generous spirit and commitment to helping others are a
22	26		shining example and a source of inspiration to those around him;
23	27		noted for his wise counsel and strong character and for the joy he
24	28		takes in living each day to the fullest, his birthday is indeed a
25	29		fitting occasion for his friends and family to celebrate and to
26	30		express their affection and appreciation; now, therefore, be it
27	31		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
28	32		Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Lee Clay on his 77th birthday
29	33		and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
30	34		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
31	35		him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
