| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | celebrate Texas Association of Builders Day at the State Capitol |

| 4 | 4 | | on March 29, 2023; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Association of Home |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Builders, the Texas Association of Builders was founded in 1946 |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | as an organization dedicated to fostering a positive business |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | environment for the housing industry; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Representing over 758,000 jobs and nearly $72 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | billion annually in the Texas economy, the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Builders now includes 26 local associations and close to 10,000 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | members; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Builders has established |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | programs and initiatives including the Grassroots Advocacy and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Action Center and the HOMEPAC political action committee to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | address issues that affect the housing industry, and the Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Builders Foundation serves to promote charitable organizations |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and activities; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Leaders in home building are recognized by the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Texas Association of Builders by being inducted into the Texas |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Housing Hall of Honor and by being named as recipients of the Star |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Awards; industry members throughout the country attend the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Sunbelt Builders Show, which is hosted by the association and is |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | one of the industry's largest events in North America; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Residential housing is essential to the state's |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | growth and economy, and the members of the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Builders are truly deserving of special recognition for their |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | many contributions to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 29, 2023, as Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Association of Builders Day at the State Capitol and extend to |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | the organization's members best wishes for an enjoyable and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | productive visit and for continued success in the housing |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | industry; and, be it further |

| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the |

| 36 | 36 | | organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
