| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Lipan High School boys' basketball team, which |

| 4 | 4 | | recently won the 2023 University Interscholastic League Class 2A |

| 5 | 5 | | state championship title; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Lipan Indians were victorious in their |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | appearance at the Class 2A boys' basketball finals in San |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Antonio; these young athletes have demonstrated great talent and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | perseverance throughout the school year, and the members of this |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | championship team can take pride in their outstanding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | performance; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | head coach Brent Gaylor and assistant coaches Jimmy Lott and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Garrett Stewart, and with the support of the team's managers, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | trainers, and statisticians, the Lipan Indians have developed |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | exceptional teamwork and discipline; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Lipan High School and the City of Lipan are proud |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of the Indians for their hard work, their impressive skills, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend the players, coaches, and staff of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the Lipan High School boys' basketball team on the Indians' |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | successful season and congratulate them on winning the 2023 Class |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 2A state championship title; and, be it further |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
