5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends have suffered an immeasurable |

6 | 6 | | loss with the untimely passing of Bryan Taylor Kelting of Houston |
---|
7 | 7 | | on March 6, 2023, at the age of 31; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Bryan Kelting was born in Houston on February 26, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1992, to Deborah Kelting Fite and Mark Kelting, and his family |
---|
10 | 10 | | included his two brothers, Dylan and Blake; a skilled and |
---|
11 | 11 | | dedicated basketball player throughout his youth, he was a member |
---|
12 | 12 | | of advanced AAU teams and played in the AAU Basketball Nationals |
---|
13 | 13 | | in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2005; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Stratford High School, |
---|
15 | 15 | | Mr. Kelting attended Texas A&M University, where he was a member |
---|
16 | 16 | | of Sigma Chi Fraternity; he earned a bachelor's degree in |
---|
17 | 17 | | economics in 2014 and went on to enjoy a rewarding career as the |
---|
18 | 18 | | director of sales for group benefits with EMG Insurance |
---|
19 | 19 | | Brokerage; over the course of his exemplary seven-year tenure |
---|
20 | 20 | | with the company, he was responsible for successfully |
---|
21 | 21 | | structuring a group medical benefits department from the ground |
---|
22 | 22 | | up; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Kelting shared a rewarding relationship with |
---|
24 | 24 | | his partner, Sarah Sgarbi, and the couple devoted themselves to |
---|
25 | 25 | | fostering dogs that required specialized and attentive care; |
---|
26 | 26 | | together, they worked with various shelters in an effort to give |
---|
27 | 27 | | animals a chance at recovery, life, and finding their forever |
---|
28 | 28 | | homes; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too |
---|
30 | 30 | | soon, Bryan Kelting touched the lives of everyone around him in |
---|
31 | 31 | | ways beyond measure with his compassion, empathy, and kindness, |
---|
32 | 32 | | and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |
---|
33 | 33 | | therefore, be it |

34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
---|
35 | 35 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bryan Taylor |

36 | 36 | | Kelting and extend profound condolences to the members of his |

37 | 37 | | family: to his mother, Deborah Kelting Fite, and her husband, |
---|
38 | 38 | | Ralph H. Fite; to his father, Mark Steven Kelting; to his |
