55 WHEREAS, Family and friends have suffered an immeasurable
66 loss with the untimely passing of Bryan Taylor Kelting of Houston
77 on March 6, 2023, at the age of 31; and
88 WHEREAS, Bryan Kelting was born in Houston on February 26,
99 1992, to Deborah Kelting Fite and Mark Kelting, and his family
1010 included his two brothers, Dylan and Blake; a skilled and
1111 dedicated basketball player throughout his youth, he was a member
1212 of advanced AAU teams and played in the AAU Basketball Nationals
1313 in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2005; and
1414 WHEREAS, After graduating from Stratford High School,
1515 Mr. Kelting attended Texas A&M University, where he was a member
1616 of Sigma Chi Fraternity; he earned a bachelor's degree in
1717 economics in 2014 and went on to enjoy a rewarding career as the
1818 director of sales for group benefits with EMG Insurance
1919 Brokerage; over the course of his exemplary seven-year tenure
2020 with the company, he was responsible for successfully
2121 structuring a group medical benefits department from the ground
2222 up; and
2323 WHEREAS, Mr. Kelting shared a rewarding relationship with
2424 his partner, Sarah Sgarbi, and the couple devoted themselves to
2525 fostering dogs that required specialized and attentive care;
2626 together, they worked with various shelters in an effort to give
2727 animals a chance at recovery, life, and finding their forever
2828 homes; and
2929 WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too
3030 soon, Bryan Kelting touched the lives of everyone around him in
3131 ways beyond measure with his compassion, empathy, and kindness,
3232 and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now,
3333 therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
3535 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bryan Taylor
3636 Kelting and extend profound condolences to the members of his
3737 family: to his mother, Deborah Kelting Fite, and her husband,
3838 Ralph H. Fite; to his father, Mark Steven Kelting; to his
3939 brothers, Dylan Ray Leal and Blake Richard Kelting; to his loving
4040 companion, Sarah Sgarbi; and to his other relatives and friends;
4141 and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
4343 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
4444 this day, it do so in memory of Bryan Kelting.
