56 WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
6- generosity of Patricia Martin of Parker County, who passed away
7- on December 10, 2022, at the age of 75; and
8- WHEREAS, Pat Martin was born to Fred and Bernice Rutledge
9- on October 29, 1947, in Rotan and grew up with the companionship
10- of three siblings, Karen, James, and Lynne; she moved with her
11- family to Brock, where they lived for a few years before settling
12- in Weatherford; a graduate of Weatherford College, she embarked
13- on a career in land title insurance in 1974 and continued working
14- in the industry for many years while raising her son, Brandon, as
15- a single mother; and
16- WHEREAS, In 2011, she married Jimmy Martin, and together
17- they created a blended family that included her stepchildren,
18- Tracie, Tory, and Annabeth; a doting grandmother, Mrs. Martin
19- treasured spending time with her 11 grandchildren and 13
20- great-grandchildren; and

2122 WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Martin held
2223 leadership roles with the Parker County Committee on Aging, the
2324 Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, and the Weatherford Independent
2425 School District Education Foundation, and she served on the Park
2526 View Terrace Housing Facility Board for a number of years;
2627 moreover, she was a founding member of the Parker County Health
2728 Foundation and was involved with the Weatherford Lions Club and
2829 Meals on Wheels; sustained by a deep and abiding faith, she was a
2930 valued congregant of Willow Park Baptist Church; and
3031 WHEREAS, Known for her strength of character, her
31- unconditional love, and her contagious laugh, Pat Martin
32- brightened the world for all who knew her, and they will forever
33- hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
34- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
35- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Martin
36- and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and,
37- be it further
32+ unconditional love, and her contagious laugh, Pat Martin brightened
33+ the world for all who knew her, and they will forever hold her close
34+ in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
35+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
36+ hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Martin and extend sincere
37+ condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be it further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
39- prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
40- this day, it do so in memory of Pat Martin.
