| 10 | 6 | | Granbury Chamber of Commerce, and the members of Leadership |

| 11 | 7 | | Granbury and Junior Leadership Granbury; and |
|---|
| 12 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Granbury, the county seat of Hood County, was |
|---|
| 13 | 9 | | founded in 1854 and incorporated in 1871; it is situated on Lake |
|---|
| 14 | 10 | | Granbury, where the community has gained a reputation for the |
|---|
| 15 | 11 | | many enjoyable celebrations, festivals, and events that draw |
|---|
| 16 | 12 | | visitors from near and far; a region with a rich history, Hood |
|---|
| 17 | 13 | | County was ranked sixth in growth rate among United States |
|---|
| 18 | 14 | | counties between 1970 and 1980; Granbury has continued to |
|---|
| 19 | 15 | | maintain and improve its historic downtown square, the area's |
|---|
| 20 | 16 | | beautifully restored homes, and the famed Hood County |
|---|
| 21 | 17 | | Courthouse; Granbury has been recognized by USA Today as the Best |
|---|
| 22 | 18 | | Historic Small Town in Texas in 2019, 2020, and 2021; and |
|---|
| 23 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Granbury and Hood County are known for the |
|---|
| 24 | 20 | | flourishing local agribusiness, which includes the production of |
|---|
| 25 | 21 | | such crops as hay, peanuts, and pecans, and for the area's |
|---|
| 26 | 22 | | natural gas production and thriving tourism industry; music and |
|---|
| 27 | 23 | | performance venues including the Granbury Opera House and |
|---|
| 28 | 24 | | Granbury Live provide an impressive array of activities for |
|---|
| 29 | 25 | | visitors and residents; and |
|---|
| 30 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Hood County Day at the Capitol is indeed a fitting |
|---|
| 31 | 27 | | opportunity for members of the Granbury Chamber of Commerce and |
|---|
| 32 | 28 | | business community and residents of Hood County to join together |
|---|
| 33 | 29 | | at the State Capitol to celebrate their county and its rich |
|---|
| 34 | 30 | | history as they look ahead toward its bright future; now, |
|---|
| 35 | 31 | | therefore, be it |

| 36 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 37 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Hood County on their |
|---|
| 38 | 34 | | many contributions to the prosperity of the Lone Star State and |
|---|
| 39 | 35 | | extend to all best wishes for a successful and memorable Hood |
|---|
| 40 | 36 | | County Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 41 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
