R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tradewind Airport in Amarillo is being honored as
the 2023 State Airport of the Year by the Texas Department of
Transportation Aviation Division; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1946, Tradewind Airport is located
near Amarillo's central business district; the airport spans 595
acres and features two asphalt runways and a helipad; and
WHEREAS, Tradewind Airport offers a full range of aircraft
management, consulting, and air charter services, including
aircraft storage, maintenance, crew staffing, flight planning,
concierge services, and aircraft brokerage and sales; recently, the
facility has undergone a number of improvements to its parking and
fixed-base operator, and a restaurant has been added, with
additional on-site businesses planned for the future; and
WHEREAS, Tradewind Airport is indispensable to the
transportation infrastructure in the Panhandle region, and its
significant contributions to its community and to the Lone Star
State make it a fitting recipient of this prestigious honor; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
hereby congratulate Tradewind Airport on being named the 2023 State
Airport of the Year and extend to all those associated with the
airport sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Tradewind Airport as an expression of high regard by
the Texas Senate.
