 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
 passing of Jon Edward Jasper of Troup on March 31, 2023, at the age
 of 75; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Hubert and Opal Jasper, Jon Jasper was
 born in Decatur, Indiana, on August 17, 1947, and he grew up in
 Kentucky with the companionship of two siblings, Richard and Mary
 Carolyn; he graduated from Clark County High School and went on to
 attend the University of Kentucky, where he earned a degree in
 chemical engineering; and
 WHEREAS, After graduating from college, Mr. Jasper moved to
 Texas and subsequently embarked on a lengthy career in the oil and
 gas industry; in 1992, he started his own company, Engineering,
 Procurement & Construction, Inc., which is now known as Jasper
 Ventures, Inc.; over the course of his 31-year tenure leading the
 company, he earned the respect of his employees and distinguished
 himself through his kindness, generosity, and exemplary work ethic;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Jasper and his wife, Susan, shared a rewarding
 relationship that spanned 53 years; he was a devoted father to his
 three children, Carrie-Ann, Jane, and Brent, and with the passing
 years, he had the pleasure of watching his family grow to include
 numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a man of strong
 faith, he was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church and
 was active in a range of evangelism and discipleship initiatives;
 in his leisure hours, he enjoyed spending time with his family at
 the lake, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, and having breakfast
 on Saturday mornings with the Corvettes of Tyler club; furthermore,
 he supported various nonprofits and provided loving homes for
 numerous stray and foster dogs over the years; and
 WHEREAS, Although Jon Jasper will be deeply missed, he has
 left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will
 forever cherish; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
 hereby pay tribute to the life of Jon Edward Jasper and extend
 sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
 day, it do so in memory of Jon Jasper.
