	6	+	WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
	7	+	passing of Jon Edward Jasper of Troup on March 31, 2023, at the age
	8	+	of 75; and
8	9		WHEREAS, The son of Hubert and Opal Jasper, Jon Jasper was
9	10		born in Decatur, Indiana, on August 17, 1947, and he grew up in
10	11		Kentucky with the companionship of two siblings, Richard and Mary
11		-	Carolyn; he graduated from Clark County High School and went on
12		-	to attend the University of Kentucky, where he earned a degree in
	12	+	Carolyn; he graduated from Clark County High School and went on to
	13	+	attend the University of Kentucky, where he earned a degree in
13	14		chemical engineering; and
14		-	WHEREAS, After graduating from college, Mr. Jasper moved
15		-	to Texas and subsequently embarked on a lengthy career in the oil
16		-	~~and~~ gas industry; in 1992, he started his own company,
17		-	~~Engineering,~~ Procurement & Construction, Inc., which is now
18		-	~~known as Jasper~~ Ventures, Inc.; over the course of his 31-year
19		-	~~tenure leading the~~ company, he earned the respect of his
20		-	~~employees and distinguished~~ himself through his kindness,
21		-	~~generosity,~~ and ~~exemplary work ethic; and~~
	15	+	WHEREAS, After graduating from college, Mr. Jasper moved to
	16	+	Texas and subsequently embarked on a lengthy career in the oil and
	17	+	gas industry; in 1992, he started his own company, Engineering,
	18	+	Procurement & Construction, Inc., which is now known as Jasper
	19	+	Ventures, Inc.; over the course of his 31-year tenure leading the
	20	+	company, he earned the respect of his employees and distinguished
	21	+	himself through his kindness, generosity, and exemplary work ethic;
	22	+	and
22	23		WHEREAS, Mr. Jasper and his wife, Susan, shared a rewarding
23	24		relationship that spanned 53 years; he was a devoted father to his
24	25		three children, Carrie-Ann, Jane, and Brent, and with the passing
25	26		years, he had the pleasure of watching his family grow to include
26	27		numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a man of strong
27	28		faith, he was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church and
28	29		was active in a range of evangelism and discipleship initiatives;
29	30		in his leisure hours, he enjoyed spending time with his family at
30	31		the lake, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, and having breakfast
31	32		on Saturday mornings with the Corvettes of Tyler club; furthermore,
32	33		he supported various nonprofits and provided loving homes for
33	34		numerous stray and foster dogs over the years; and
34	35		WHEREAS, Although Jon Jasper will be deeply missed, he has
35		-	left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they
36		-	will forever cherish; now, therefore, be it
37		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
38		-	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jon Edward
39		-	Jasper and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and,
40		-	be it further

	37	+	forever cherish; now, therefore, be it
	38	+	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
	39	+	hereby pay tribute to the life of Jon Edward Jasper and extend
	40	+	sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further
41	41		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
42		-	prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
43		-	this day, it do so in memory of Jon Jasper.
