2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize the Bob Bullock Scholars Program of Baylor University
4	8		and the scholars who are participating in the program during the
5	9		88th Texas Legislature in 2023; and
6	10		WHEREAS, Established in 2000 to honor the memory of
7		-	Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, the Scholars Program promotes the
8		-	practical study of politics by Baylor University students; and
	11	+	Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, the Scholars Program promotes
	12	+	the practical study of politics by Baylor University students;
	13	+	and
9	14		WHEREAS, Each student selected for participation in the
10	15		program works full time for a member of the Texas Legislature
11	16		during the legislative session to learn firsthand about the
12	17		structure and the politics of Texas government; the Bob Bullock
13	18		Scholars Program is an outstanding opportunity for those who seek
14	19		to learn about the process of policy making and prepare for a
15	20		career in public service; and
16	21		WHEREAS, Dr. Patrick Flavin serves as the director of the
17	22		Bob Bullock Scholars Program and oversees placement of Baylor
18		-	students with legislative offices for the legislative session; and
	23	+	students with legislative offices for the legislative session;
	24	+	and
19	25		WHEREAS, The 10 Bob Bullock Scholars working with
20	26		legislators during the 88th Texas Legislature are: Allie Barnett
21	27		with Senator Brian Birdwell, Caden Betancourt with
22	28		Representative Jeff Leach, Mika'ele Castro with Senator Mayes
23	29		Middleton, Hayden Cottrell with Representative Mary González,
24	30		Paige Hoefer with Senator Royce West, Audrey La with
25	31		Representative Gene Wu, Annabelle Snyder with Senator Robert
26	32		Nichols, Gabe Solano with Senator Brandon Creighton, Rhayne
27	33		Trahan with Representative Chris Turner, and Morné Wolmarans
28	34		with Senator Drew Springer; now, therefore, be it
29	35		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
30	36		Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Baylor University's Bob
31	37		Bullock Scholars Program and commend this year's scholars on
32	38		their participation in the state's legislative process; and, be
33	39		it further
34	40		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
35	41		the participants of the program as an expression of esteem from
36	42		the Texas Senate.
