| 6 | + | WHEREAS, Proud citizens of La Salle County are visiting |

| 7 | + | the State Capitol on April 18, 2023, to celebrate the role their |

| 8 | + | South Texas home has played in the annals of the Lone Star State; |

24 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Ranching remains a major part of the county's |

25 | 30 | | economy; other income is derived from oil and gas, a significant |
---|
26 | 31 | | industry here since the 1950s, and from agriculture; the South |
---|
27 | 32 | | Texas practice of cool-season farming originated in La Salle |
---|
28 | 33 | | County in the 1890s, and by 1910 the county was the leading |
---|
29 | 34 | | vegetable producer in the Winter Garden Region; and |
---|
30 | 35 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of La Salle County are heirs to a |
---|
31 | 36 | | notable history and heritage, and their productivity and |
---|
35 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
---|
36 | 41 | | Legislature, hereby recognize April 18, 2023, as La Salle County |
---|
37 | 42 | | Day at the State Capitol and extend to the county's residents and |
---|
38 | 43 | | delegates sincere best wishes for a memorable and rewarding |
---|
39 | 44 | | visit; and, be it further |

40 | 45 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
