5- WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
6- the passing of Anthony Wayne LeStourgeon of Bandera on March 25,

6+ WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
7+ passing of Anthony Wayne LeStourgeon of Bandera on March 25, 2022,
8+ at the age of 52; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Cecil W. LeStourgeon and Annette Teich
910 LeStourgeon, Tony LeStourgeon was born in San Antonio on March 1,
1011 1970, and he grew up in Bandera with the companionship of his
1112 sisters, Connie, Lori, and Donna; he graduated from Medina High
1213 School in 1988; and
1314 WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty,
1415 Mr. LeStourgeon served in the U.S. Army for 11 years; after
15- completing his basic training, he became a light infantryman in
16- the 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord, California; he went on to
17- attend the Jungle Operations Training Center at Fort Sherman,
18- Panama, and he served with the Alpha Gators and Rakkasans at Fort
19- Campbell, Kentucky; he completed tours in Korea and Saudi Arabia,
20- and he subsequently accepted a position as a recruiter in
21- Phoenix, Arizona; returning to the infantry field, he served with
22- the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York, before
23- concluding his tenure with the military; his honors included an
24- Expert Infantry Badge as well as several Commendation Medals; and

2627 masonry industry in Bandera, and he worked on many buildings and
27- houses across the city and surrounding counties; he lived for a
28- time on the Oregon Coast before returning to Texas; and
29- WHEREAS, Mr. LeStourgeon took great pride in his sons,
30- Corey, Aaron, and Matthew, and his daughter, Delaney, and in
31- their youth, he served as a coach for their Little League and Flag
32- Football teams; with the passing years, he had the pleasure of
33- welcoming into his family six grandchildren, Caliyah, Kennedy,
34- Jackson, Sawyer, Ira, and Jacob; and
28+ houses across the city and surrounding counties; he lived for a time
29+ on the Oregon Coast before returning to Texas; and
30+ WHEREAS, Mr. LeStourgeon took great pride in his sons, Corey,
31+ Aaron, and Matthew, and his daughter, Delaney, and in their youth,
32+ he served as a coach for their Little League and Flag Football
33+ teams; with the passing years, he had the pleasure of welcoming into
34+ his family six grandchildren, Caliyah, Kennedy, Jackson, Sawyer,
35+ Ira, and Jacob; and
3536 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, a proud veteran, and an
3637 engaged member of his community, Tony LeStourgeon will be
3738 remembered with admiration and affection by all who were
3839 privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
39- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
40- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Anthony Wayne
41- LeStourgeon and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
42- family and to his many friends; and, be it further
