2- WHEREAS, The Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities Partnership
3- has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving the quality
4- of life for residents of the Central Texas region; and
5- WHEREAS, Established in 2009, the Cen-Tex partnership
6- serves as a forum in which representatives of Fort Hood and the
7- neighboring cities of Belton, Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Harker
8- Heights, Killeen, Lampasas, Nolanville, and Salado come together
9- to develop and implement sustainability efforts that enhance
10- economic vitality while protecting human health and natural
11- resources; and

6+ WHEREAS, The Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities Partnership has
7+ demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving the quality of
8+ life for residents of the Central Texas region; and
9+ WHEREAS, Established in 2009, the Cen-Tex partnership serves
10+ as a forum in which representatives of Fort Hood and the neighboring
11+ cities of Belton, Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Harker Heights,
12+ Killeen, Lampasas, Nolanville, and Salado come together to develop
13+ and implement sustainability efforts that enhance economic
14+ vitality while protecting human health and natural resources; and
1215 WHEREAS, The partnership promotes environmentally sound
1316 practices through such events as the Fort Hood Earth Fest,
1417 Gatesville Earth Day, and the Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful Eco
1518 Harvest; on April 24, 2023, in Salado, the Fort Hood garrison
1619 commander and mayors from partner cities are gathering in
1720 recognition of Sustainable Environment Month and to honor
1821 individuals and organizations with Environmental Ambassador
1922 Awards; schools involved in the Youth Environmental Ambassadors!
2023 program will also be recognized; and
2124 WHEREAS, Members of the Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities
2225 Partnership are working to build an even brighter future for the
2326 communities of Central Texas, and their exemplary efforts truly
2427 merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it
25- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
26- Legislature, hereby commend the Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities
27- Partnership for its contributions to the region and extend to all
28- those associated with the initiative sincere best wishes for
29- continued success; and, be it further
28+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
29+ hereby commend the Cen-Tex Sustainable Communities Partnership for
30+ its contributions to the region and extend to all those associated
31+ with the initiative sincere best wishes for continued success; and,
