| 6 | 6 | | with the tragic passing of Mason Anthony Nelson of Galveston on |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on April 14, 2008, in San Antonio, Mason |

| 9 | 9 | | Nelson was the cherished son of Reid Allen and Melissa Vaught |

| 10 | 10 | | Nelson and the brother of four siblings, Ellie, Parker, Cody, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Peighton; he spent the first nine years of his life in Boerne, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | before moving to Galveston in 2017; last May, he graduated from |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Trinity Episcopal School, and at the time of his death, he had |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | recently started his freshman year at Ball High School; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A hardworking and driven young athlete, Mason |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | dedicated himself to practicing baseball and training to live up |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to his full potential; he earned the admiration of his coaches |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and teammates, and he enjoyed the camaraderie of a tight-knit |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | circle of friends, who were like brothers and sisters to him; in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | addition, he formed many close relationships at Camp Longhorn, |

| 21 | 21 | | and he left a profound impression on countless other people over |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the course of his life; in all his endeavors, he derived much |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | comfort and strength from his faith, and his devotion to his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | beliefs was an inspiration to those around him; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Although the passing of Mason Nelson brings |

| 26 | 26 | | immeasurable pain and sorrow, his memory will continue to live on |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in his love and |

| 28 | 28 | | friendship; now, therefore, be it |
