                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 48
 In Memory
 of
 Sharon McCormack
 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
 the passing of Sharon Lillian McCormack of Prosper on June 20,
 2022, at the age of 80; and
 WHEREAS, The former Sharon Bennett was born to Archie and
 Lillian Bennett in Santa Monica, California, on January 21, 1942,
 and she grew up on a farm in Vernon Center, Minnesota, with the
 companionship of a brother, Larry; in 1963, she was joined in
 matrimony to Clark McCormack, with whom she shared a fulfilling
 union that spanned 58 years; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. McCormack earned a degree in home economics
 from Mankato State University, and she went on to work as a
 teacher in Madelia, Minnesota; she later moved with her husband
 to Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio before settling in Texas; and
 WHEREAS, This beloved woman was the proud mother of three
 children, Mitchell, Jill, and Kevin, and with the passing years,
 she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include four
 grandchildren, Mitch, Dylan, Bailey, and Nico; and
 WHEREAS, Engaged in her community, Mrs. McCormack was a
 passionate supporter of the Republican Party, and she held
 various positions in the organization, including election judge
 and precinct chair; she was active in the party at the local,
 state, and national levels, and she had the honor of attending
 two presidential inaugurations; a woman of faith, she was a
 valued congregant of First United Methodist Church in
 Gainesville; and
 WHEREAS, Although Sharon McCormack is greatly missed,
 memories of her grace, her joyous zest for life, and her deep
 devotion to her family remain to comfort and inspire those she
 leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Sharon Lillian
 McCormack and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her
 passing; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
 this day, it do so in memory of Sharon McCormack.
