 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael Culling retired from the
 Manvel Municipal Court in November 2022, drawing to a close a
 distinguished career that has spanned five and a half decades; and
 WHEREAS, After graduating with honors from the University of
 Dallas, Mr. Culling earned his law degree in 1967 from The
 University of Texas at Austin; he then took a position in the
 contracts division of the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston,
 and he later worked for an oil and gas company before setting up a
 private practice in Deer Park; and
 WHEREAS, In 1974, Mr. Culling was sworn in as the presiding
 judge of Deer Park Municipal Court, and he has served as presiding
 judge for the City of Manvel since 1996; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Culling has contributed to his professional
 community as a member of the council for the Municipal Judges
 Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar College, and the
 Brazoria County and Houston Bar Associations; he has also given
 generously of his time and talents to the Alvin-Manvel Area Chamber
 of Commerce and to the Deer Park Rotary Club, Jaycees, and Chamber
 of Commerce; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Culling benefits from the
 love and support of his wife, Jan; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his years of service, Michael Culling
 has distinguished himself through his exceptional skill and
 dedication, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
 spent as he looks forward to the next exciting chapter of his life;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
 hereby congratulate Judge Michael Culling on his retirement from
 the Manvel Municipal Court and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Culling as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas Senate.
