| 3 | 3 | | was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame on November 5, |

| 4 | 4 | | 2022, at the Texas Museum of Broadcasting and Communications in |

| 5 | 5 | | Kilgore; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Born and raised in Galveston, Bob Ford got his |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | start as an announcer at the age of 13, when he took the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | microphone for youth baseball games in his hometown, already |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | possessing the booming voice that is his signature; he landed his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | first Houston radio job after graduating from high school in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1975, and he gained valuable work experience with numerous other |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | stations over the years; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In 1994, Mr. Ford embarked on his career with the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Astros, initially joining the organization as its announcer at |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the Astrodome and filling the same role at Minute Maid Park |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | beginning in 2000; he has experienced the thrill of calling |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | playoff contests and the four World Series in which the Astros |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | have competed; in 2017, he helped energize the Houston fans and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | players in games three, four, and five of the series, and the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Astros went on to win the championship in seven games; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Since 2014, Mr. Ford has also served as the PA |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | announcer for University of Houston football games at TDECU |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Stadium; he is the longtime owner and operator of Bob Ford |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Productions, a voiceover and audio production company; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, For nearly three decades, Bob Ford's name and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | voice have been synonymous with the Houston Astros, and this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | legendary announcer is indeed deserving of this prestigious hall |

| 28 | 28 | | of fame honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Bob Ford on his induction into |

| 31 | 31 | | the Texas Radio Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2022 and |

| 32 | 32 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
