| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | with the tragic passing of Laci Ada Stone of Nocona on March 15, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2022, at the age of 18; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The cherished daughter of Haydan and Chelsi Stone, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Laci Stone was born on July 1, 2003, and she grew up in Nocona with |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the companionship of two siblings, Johnathan and Kaygan; she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | graduated with the Class of 2021 from Nocona High School, where she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | was an honor student and a competitive athlete who excelled in the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | sports of golf, basketball, volleyball, and softball; as a senior, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | she was voted prom queen; moreover, she gave generously of her time |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | as a volunteer with the PALS program and the Nocona Youth Volleyball |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | League, and she was an active congregant of Northside Landmark |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Missionary Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, At the time of her passing, Ms. Stone was a freshman |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | at the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico, where she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | had been awarded a golf scholarship and was pursuing a degree in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | global business management; vivacious and full of life, she was |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | known as a young woman whose smile could light up a room, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | wherever she went, her warm and upbeat disposition won her many |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | devoted friends; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | soon, Laci Stone was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her, and they will forever carry her memory close in their hearts; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |

| 31 | 31 | | hereby pay tribute to the life of Laci Ada Stone and extend profound |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | condolences to the members of her family: to her parents, Haydan and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Chelsi Stone; to her brother, Johnathan Stone, and her sister, |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Kaygan Stone; to her grandmother, Carol Patterson; to her |

| 35 | 35 | | great-grandparents, Melvin and Minnie Corley; to her aunts, uncles, |

| 36 | 36 | | and cousins; and to all others who mourn her passing; and, be it |
