2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize the Brazos County Health District, which recently held
4	8		its second annual open house event on April 13, 2023, with a focus
5	9		on centering and celebrating cultures in health; and
6	10		WHEREAS, The Brazos County Health District is dedicated to
7	11		its mission of preventing disease, protecting life, and
8	12		promoting healthy lifestyles; located in Bryan, the organization
9	13		employs a devoted staff who work to serve the residents of Brazos
10	14		County by providing an array of health care services,
11	15		health-related permitting, and public health resources and
12	16		planning; and
13	17		WHEREAS, In addition to the comprehensive range of
14	18		environmental and community health services offered to the
15	19		public, the Brazos County Health District operates an emergency
16	20		preparedness response division, which plans and coordinates
17	21		response efforts that can be deployed in the event of disease
18	22		outbreak or public health issues resulting from natural or
19	23		man-made disasters; and
20	24		WHEREAS, The Brazos County Health District also serves the
21	25		community through its outreach team, which works to develop and
22	26		implement educational programs focusing on a variety of public
23	27		health topics; members of the outreach team coordinate
24	28		educational sessions that are held at various locations to best
25	29		serve the needs of the community, and staff engage in
26	30		collaborative outreach efforts that provide the public with
27	31		health-related resources and help to create healthier
28	32		communities; and
29	33		WHEREAS, A vital contributor to public health in the
30	34		region, the Brazos County Health District plays an invaluable
31	35		role in supporting the health and well-being of Brazos County
32	36		residents, and it is indeed fitting that the organization receive
33	37		special recognition on its outstanding public service; now,
34	38		therefore, be it
35	39		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
36	40		Legislature, hereby commend the Brazos County Health District on
37	41		its many contributions to public health in the Lone Star State
38	42		and extend to its leaders and staff best wishes for continued
39	43		success in their important work; and, be it further
40	44		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
41	45		the Brazos County Health District as an expression of esteem from
42	46		the Texas Senate.
