55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, Joseph Berumen, a nursing professional at Baylor
77 Scott and White Medical Center - Centennial in Frisco, has been
88 named one of the 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 by the Texas
99 Nurses Association; and
1010 WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes registered nurses
1111 across the state who have distinguished themselves as resourceful
1212 and innovative frontline heroes during an unprecedented public
1313 health crisis while helping to ensure a culture of compassionate
1414 care at the institutions they serve; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Berumen is being honored for his exemplary
1616 efforts in guiding his nursing team through the challenges
1717 presented by the COVID-19 pandemic; under his able leadership, the
1818 team attained a designation from the American Nurses Credentialing
1919 Center, and the facility achieved its highest patient experience
2020 ratings to date while also improving hospital infection rates; and
2121 WHEREAS, The Outstanding Texas Nurses award brings
2222 well-deserved recognition to individuals who have gone above and
2323 beyond to serve their patients and their communities, and it is a
2424 privilege to join in commending Joseph Berumen for his exceptional
2525 contributions to his profession; now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
2727 hereby congratulate Joseph Berumen on his selection as one of the
2828 Texas Nurses Association 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 and
2929 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his
3030 important work; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Mr. Berumen as an expression of high regard by the
3333 Texas Senate.
