66 WHEREAS, Casey Cox, a nursing professional at Baylor Scott
77 and White Medical Center - Plano, has been named one of the 25
88 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 by the Texas Nurses Association;
99 and
1010 WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes registered nurses
1111 across the state who have distinguished themselves as resourceful
1212 and innovative frontline heroes during an unprecedented public
1313 health crisis while helping to ensure a culture of compassionate
1414 care at the institutions they serve; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Cox is being honored for his exemplary efforts
1616 in leading a clinical team initiative for the administration of
1717 monoclonal infusion therapies during the COVID-19 pandemic; up to
1818 50 therapies were given per day, and the hospital infusion center
1919 provided more than 2,800 monoclonal treatments overall;
2020 additionally, he helped set up COVID testing for pre-operative
2121 patients on weekends and curbside testing for those with mobility
2222 issues; and
2323 WHEREAS, The Outstanding Texas Nurses award brings
2424 well-deserved recognition to individuals who have gone above and
2525 beyond to serve their patients and their communities, and it is a
2626 privilege to join in commending Casey Cox for his exceptional
2727 contributions to his profession; now, therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
2929 hereby congratulate Casey Cox on his selection as one of the Texas
3030 Nurses Association 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 and extend
3131 to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his important
3232 work; and, be it further
3333 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3434 prepared for Mr. Cox as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3535 Senate.
