| 8 | 8 | | Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 by the Texas Nurses Association; |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes registered nurses |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | across the state who have distinguished themselves as resourceful |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and innovative frontline heroes during an unprecedented public |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | health crisis while helping to ensure a culture of compassionate |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | care at the institutions they serve; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cox is being honored for his exemplary efforts |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | in leading a clinical team initiative for the administration of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | monoclonal infusion therapies during the COVID-19 pandemic; up to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 50 therapies were given per day, and the hospital infusion center |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | provided more than 2,800 monoclonal treatments overall; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | additionally, he helped set up COVID testing for pre-operative |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | patients on weekends and curbside testing for those with mobility |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | issues; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The Outstanding Texas Nurses award brings |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | well-deserved recognition to individuals who have gone above and |

| 25 | 25 | | beyond to serve their patients and their communities, and it is a |

| 26 | 26 | | privilege to join in commending Casey Cox for his exceptional |

| 27 | 27 | | contributions to his profession; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
