5+ R E S O L U T I O N
26 WHEREAS, Paul Voelker is concluding his service as mayor of
37 Richardson in May 2023, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure in
48 municipal government that has spanned 10 years; and
59 WHEREAS, Mayor Voelker first joined the Richardson City
6- Council in 2013, and after being elected as mayor pro tempore by
7- his fellow council members, he was appointed to serve as mayor in
8- May 2015; he was elected to that office in 2017 and went on to be
10+ Council in 2013, and after being elected as mayor pro tempore by his
11+ fellow council members, he was appointed to serve as mayor in May
12+ 2015; he was elected to that office in 2017 and went on to be
913 reelected in 2019 and 2021; demonstrating strong leadership over
10- the course of his tenure as mayor, he helped guide Richardson
11- during a period of tremendous growth and excelled in his duties
12- as the presiding officer of the city council and as the official
13- head of government and representative for the city; and
14- WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Mayor Voelker
15- is a member of the Richardson Police Department Breckenridge Park
16- West crime watch patrol; he has also served on the Richardson
17- Chamber of Commerce ex officio board and as an ex officio member
18- of the Leadership Richardson advisory board, and he is active in
19- the Leadership Richardson Alumni Association, having been a
20- member of the program's Class XVI; in addition, he has previously
21- given generously of his time to a number of other organizations,
22- boards, and committees, including the Metroplex Mayors
23- Association, the Richardson Zoning Board of Adjustments, and the
24- Richardson Independent School District Foundation; and
25- WHEREAS, A graduate of William Penn University, Mayor
26- Voelker is the CEO of TrenData Inc. and has more than three
27- decades of experience working in the Richardson Telecom
28- Corridor; in recognition of his expertise in the field, he was
29- appointed to the IT Cluster Committee by Governor Rick Perry; in
30- all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife,
31- Kris, and their son, Ryan; and
14+ the course of his tenure as mayor, he helped guide Richardson during
15+ a period of tremendous growth and excelled in his duties as the

33- excellence demonstrated by Paul Voelker have greatly benefited
34- the citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed reflect with pride
35- on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
36- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
37- Legislature, hereby commend Paul Voelker on his service as mayor
38- of Richardson and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
39- future; and, be it further
37+ excellence demonstrated by Paul Voelker have greatly benefited the
38+ citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a
39+ job well done; now, therefore, be it
40+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
41+ hereby commend Paul Voelker on his service as mayor of Richardson
42+ and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
43+ further
4044 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
41- prepared for Mayor Voelker as an expression of high regard from
42- the Texas Senate.
