2	2	WHEREAS, A number of future leaders have provided
3	3	indispensable support as participants in the Texas Legislative
4	4	Internship Program during the 88th Legislative Session; and
5	5	WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Internship Program was
6	6	established by State Senator Rodney Ellis in December 1990,
7	7	and it is administered by Texas Southern University; the
8	8	program provides students from Texas colleges and universities
9	9	with a unique opportunity to serve as interns in the Texas
10	10	Legislature, the United States Congress, and a variety of
11	11	local, state, and national government agencies and public
12	12	policy organizations; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Students receive academic credit for
14	14	participating in the program, which combines academic study and
15	15	research with supervised practical training; as interns, they
16	16	gain firsthand knowledge of the governmental process and work
17	17	experience in a political environment, as well as insight into
18	18	the issues facing our communities and our state today; and
19	19	WHEREAS, This year's participants in the Texas Legislative
20	20	Internship Program are Abigayle Abel, Alaina Dixon, Alexandria
21	21	Gonzalez, Amajah Hall, Aylin Murillo, Chloe Hancock, Christopher
22	22	Shafik, Claudia Cuellar, Cornelius Sabastian Berry, Courtney
23	23	A. Doucet, D'Angelo Colter, David Freid, Dayleen Chery, DeAndre
24	24	Jackson, Destiny Montemayor, Eraneshia Mims, Faris Husain,
25	25	Franklin Achonye, Hawani Adugna, Jesha Magee, Jessica Fuqua,
26	26	Katelyn Roy, Kimberly Zavala, Lacey Reynolds, Marissa Cummings,
27	27	Marty Scott, Melissa Williams, Monique Dunbar, Natoya Inglis,

32	32	WHEREAS, Through the diligence and resourcefulness that they
33	33	have demonstrated while performing a multitude of tasks, these
34	34	admirable young men and women have contributed significantly to the
35	35	offices they have served and, in turn, to the constituents who
36	36	reside in their districts; now, therefore, be it
37	37	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
38	38	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Legislative
39	39	Internship Program Class of the 88th Legislature for their
40	40	excellent work and extend to them best wishes for the future;
41	41	and, be it further
42	42	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
43	43	prepared for the class as an expression of high regard from the
44	44	Texas Senate.
