| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Lee Brooks Wilson of |

| 6 | 6 | | Austin were deeply saddened by his passing on April 16, 2023, at |

| 7 | 7 | | the age of 66; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Gloria and James "Tom" Thompson, Lee |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Wilson was born on October 21, 1956, and he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of two brothers, Paul and Leroy; as a child, he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | helped out at his grandfather's café in Austin, and he spent his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | teen years in Japan before attending college in Bossier City, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Louisiana, and East Lansing, Michigan; he graduated from |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Michigan State University and went on to complete his education |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Wilson enjoyed the love |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and support of his wife, Jan Friese, and he took great pride in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | his son, Jamie; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Although his loss is difficult to bear, Lee |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Wilson has left his family and friends with many cherished |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | memories, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Lee Brooks Wilson |

| 25 | 25 | | and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |

| 26 | 26 | | wife, Jan Friese; to his son, Jamie Friese-Wilson; to his mother, |

| 27 | 27 | | Gloria Thompson; to his brother, Paul Brown, and his wife, Sheila; |

| 28 | 28 | | to his niece and nephew, Skylar and Clayton Brown; to his cousin, |
