5	5	WHEREAS, Words cannot fully express the sorrow felt by the
6	6	loved ones of Eliahna Torres of Uvalde, who passed away on May 24,
7	7	2022, at the age of 10; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Born in Uvalde on January 12, 2012, to Eli and
9	9	Sandra Torres, Eliahna Torres was blessed with the companionship
10	10	of her sisters, Justice and Eliza, and her brothers, Eli and
11	11	Dylan; her extended family included her grandparents, her nieces
12	12	and nephews, and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and she
13	13	also benefited from the love and support of numerous people in
14	14	the wider community; and
15	15	WHEREAS, A vibrant girl with a radiant smile, Eliahna
16	16	enjoyed being silly and making everyone laugh; she had developed
17	17	a compassionate and nurturing nature that set her apart at such a
18	18	young age, and she was always putting the needs of others ahead of
19	19	her own; she was also a promising softball player who was vying
20	20	for a spot on her city's all-star team; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too
22	22	soon, Eliahna Torres touched the lives of those around her in
23	23	ways beyond measure, and she will forever hold a special place in
24	24	their hearts; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
26	26	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eliahna Torres
27	27	and extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: to
28	28	her parents, Sandra and Eli Torres; to her siblings, Justice
29	29	Montes and her husband, Felix, Eliza Torres and her partner, Joe
30	30	Camacho, Eli Torres Jr. and his wife, Karina Arizmendi, and Dylan
31	31	Rodriguez; to her nieces, Arabella, Alaiyah, Avayah, Nayeli, and
32	32	Lexi; to her nephews, Mark, Eli, and Joe; to her grandparents,
33	33	Eva Cruz and her husband, Victor Cabralez, Adolfo Cruz, Moses and
34	34	Araceli Torres, and Eloisa and Andres Alvarado; to her other
35	35	relatives and friends; and to the countless others in Uvalde and
36	36	beyond who mourn her passing; and, be it further
37	37	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
38	38	prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
39	39	this day, it do so in memory of Eliahna Torres.
