5	5	WHEREAS, The family and friends of Xavier James Lopez of
6	6	Uvalde will forever cherish their memories of this vibrant and
7	7	beloved young boy, who passed away on May 24, 2022, at the age of
8	8	10; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Xavier Lopez was born in Uvalde on March 12, 2012,
10	10	to Abel Lopez and Felicha Martinez, and he grew up with the
11	11	companionship of his siblings, Jose Mata, Jermya Lopez, and
12	12	little brother Justan Lopez; he also enjoyed the affection of an
13	13	extended family that included his niece, Katalina Mata, along
14	14	with numerous aunts and uncles, and he was preceded in death by
15	15	his grandfather, Benito Martinez Sr.; and
16	16	WHEREAS, Active and energetic, Xavier was known for his
17	17	impressive sense of style and his penchant for dancing to
18	18	Colombian rhythms; he enjoyed performing for the camera, and he
19	19	was blessed with a fun-loving, lighthearted personality and a
20	20	smile that could brighten anyone's day; he was also fond of art
21	21	class at school, where he had recently made the honor roll, and he
22	22	was discovering his passion for baseball as a member of his team,
23	23	the Blue Jays; and
24	24	WHEREAS, Xavier Lopez brought joy to his loved ones through
25	25	his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest, and he will
26	26	forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore,
27	27	be it
28	28	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
29	29	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Xavier James
30	30	Lopez and extend deepest condolences to the members of his
31	31	family: to his parents, Abel Lopez and Felicha Martinez; to his
32	32	grandparents, Leonard and Amelia Sandoval; to his siblings, Jose
33	33	Mata and his wife, Angel Marie, Jermya Lopez, and Justan Lopez;
34	34	to his niece, Katalina Mata; and to the countless others in
35	35	Uvalde and beyond who mourn his passing; and, be it further
36	36	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
37	37	prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
38	38	this day, it do so in memory of Xavier Lopez.
