5	5	WHEREAS, The family and friends of Makenna Elrod Seiler of
6	6	Uvalde suffered a heartbreaking loss with the passing of this
7	7	cherished young girl on May 24, 2022, at the age of 10; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Makenna Elrod Seiler was born on April 19, 2012,
9	9	and was raised by her loving parents, April Elrod and Chris
10	10	Seiler; she was blessed with two sisters, Cailey and Cayden, and
11	11	a brother, Holden, along with her grandparents and a number of
12	12	aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Makenna radiated love and kindness toward
14	14	everyone; she was a natural leader who readily endeared herself
15	15	to others, making new friends everywhere she went, and she had a
16	16	sunny smile that brightened the world around her; her affinity
17	17	for animals led her to join the 4-H club, and she also enjoyed
18	18	participating in softball and gymnastics, dancing and singing,
19	19	going to school, and spending time with her family; she never
20	20	hesitated to help out when asked, and she had a habit of writing
21	21	notes and leaving them in hidden places for her family members to
22	22	find; and
23	23	WHEREAS, While her journey on this earth ended far too
24	24	soon, Makenna touched the lives of many people during the time
25	25	she shared with them, and those who were fortunate enough to know
26	26	her will forever keep her memory alive in their hearts; now,
27	27	therefore, be it
28	28	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
29	29	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Makenna Elrod
30	30	Seiler and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
31	31	family: to her parents, April Elrod and Chris Seiler; to her
32	32	grandparents, Sharon Brown, Mike Brown, Brenda Fernandez, Nancy
33	33	Brown, LeeAnn Kramer and Leslie, Steve and Maryland Seiler, and
34	34	Pat and Jim Sibigtroth; to her great-grandmother, Myrtle Brown;
35	35	to her siblings, Cailey and Cayden Seiler and Holden Elrod; to
36	36	her cousins, Madison, Payton, and Zoe McCullough; to her aunts
37	37	and uncles, Kyle and Allison McCullough, Heather Seiler, Jordan
38	38	Seiler, and Tabitha Seiler; and to the countless others in Uvalde
39	39	and beyond who mourn her passing; and, be it further
40	40	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
41	41	prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
42	42	this day, it do so in memory of Makenna Elrod Seiler.
