6	6	WHEREAS, Emergency medical technician Aaron Mann of the Wise
7	7	County Office of Emergency Management has been named the recipient
8	8	of a Medal of Valor in recognition of his role in saving the life of
9	9	a Fort Worth resident involved in a vehicle accident; and
10	10	WHEREAS, On February 2, 2022, Aaron Mann responded to a
11	11	traffic incident in which a car with two occupants lost control on
12	12	an iced-over bridge and plunged into the Trinity River; the
13	13	passenger was pulled from the vehicle by a witness, and the driver
14	14	remained trapped in the car when it sank; an EMS swift water
15	15	technician, Mr. Mann swam into the frigid river, located the
16	16	vehicle, and conducted a series of dives to extract the man from the
17	17	car; he brought the victim to the shore, where waiting emergency
18	18	personnel performed lifesaving procedures; the man was transported
19	19	to a hospital and is expected to fully recover; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Every day, the first responders of Texas are called
21	21	to the aid of individuals in need, and through his quick and
22	22	courageous action in this critical situation, Aaron Mann upheld the
23	23	highest standards of his profession and helped to save the life of a
24	24	fellow citizen; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
26	26	hereby congratulate Aaron Mann of the Wise County Office of
27	27	Emergency Management on his receipt of a Medal of Valor and extend
28	28	to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
29	29	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
30	30	prepared for Mr. Mann as an expression of high regard by the Texas
31	31	Senate.
