5	5	WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Eliahna Amyah Garcia of
6	6	Uvalde on May 24, 2022, at the age of nine, brought an
7	7	incalculable loss to the family and friends of this beloved young
8	8	girl; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Eliahna Garcia was born in Uvalde on June 4, 2012,
10	10	to Steven and Jennifer Garcia; her cherished family included her
11	11	four sisters, Janelle, Adrianna, Viviana, and Adalyn, as well as
12	12	her grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Eliahna, who was affectionately known as "Ellie"
14	14	to her loved ones, was blessed with a kind heart and a vibrant,
15	15	cheerful spirit; she enjoyed dancing, playing basketball, and
16	16	riding her bicycle, and she was an enthusiastic fan of the film
17	17	Encanto; moreover, even though it was several years away, she had
18	18	already begun planning for her quinceañera party, and she had
19	19	dreams of becoming a cheerleader one day; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Through the love and laughter she shared, Eliahna
21	21	Garcia made the world a brighter place for everyone around her,
22	22	and time will never dim their memories of the joy she brought into
23	23	their lives; now, therefore, be it
24	24	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
25	25	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eliahna Amyah
26	26	Garcia and extend deepest condolences to the members of her
27	27	family: to her parents, Steven and Jennifer Garcia; to her
28	28	sisters, Janelle, Adrianna, Viviana, and Adalyn Garcia; to her
29	29	grandparents, Rogelio and Nelda Lugo and Arnulfo and Leticia
30	30	Arizmendi; to her other relatives and friends; and to the
31	31	countless others in Uvalde and beyond who mourn her passing; and,
32	32	be it further
33	33	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
34	34	prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
35	35	this day, it do so in memory of Eliahna Amyah Garcia.
