55 WHEREAS, Jayce Carmelo Luevanos of Uvalde passed away on
66 May 24, 2022, at the age of 10, and memories of this vibrant and
77 caring young boy will forever endure in the hearts of those who
88 knew and loved him; and
99 WHEREAS, Jayce Luevanos was born in Uvalde on February 2,
1010 2012, to Christina Quiroz and Jose E. Luevanos; he enjoyed the
1111 companionship of his three brothers, Jose, Chance, and Corey, and
1212 his sister, Justine; and
1313 WHEREAS, Energetic and full of life, Jayce often brought
1414 other children from the neighborhood over to his home for
1515 rambunctious playdates in the backyard; cherished by his parents
1616 and siblings, he was also a devoted grandson who would wake up to
1717 brew his grandparents, Carmelo and Sylvia Quiroz, a pot of coffee
1818 each morning; and
1919 WHEREAS, Although the tragic passing of Jayce Luevanos is
2020 an immeasurable loss to the many people who held him dear, they
2121 may find comfort in knowing that their lives have been forever
2222 enriched by the love, laughter, and joy that he shared with them;
2323 now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
2525 Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jayce Carmelo
2626 Luevanos and extend profound condolences to the members of his
2727 family: to his parents, Christina Quiroz and Jose E. Luevanos;
2828 to his siblings, Jose Enrique Luevanos Jr., Chance Luevanos,
2929 Corey Luevanos, and Justine Luevanos; to his grandparents,
3030 Carmelo and Sylvia Quiroz; to his other relatives and friends;
3131 and to the countless others in Uvalde and beyond who mourn his
3232 passing; and, be it further
3333 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
3434 prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
3535 this day, it do so in memory of Jayce Carmelo Luevanos.
