5	5	WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss
6	6	with the tragic passing of Uziyah Sergio Garcia of Uvalde on
7	7	May 24, 2022, at the age of 10; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Uzi Garcia was born in San Angelo on August 13,
9	9	2011, to Sergio Garcia and Mandy Marie Renfro; his family also
10	10	included his parent/guardians Brett and Nikki Cross, his
11	11	brothers Aiden and Jaxon Cross, and his sisters Alissa Jackson,
12	12	Desiaya Garcia, JoJo Cross, and Mykah "Mike" Garcia, along with
13	13	his grandparents and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and
14	14	WHEREAS, Uziyah was an outgoing, sweet, and deeply
15	15	affectionate young boy who treasured his family and particularly
16	16	enjoyed spending time with his siblings; he demonstrated his
17	17	fun-loving but competitive nature when gaming on his Nintendo
18	18	Switch or Oculus, and he found other outlets for his abundant
19	19	energy in activities like swimming, playing basketball, jumping
20	20	on trampolines, and racing his friends around the playground at
21	21	school; he also loved being silly and making everyone laugh with
22	22	his jokes; and
23	23	WHEREAS, Although Uzi Garcia's journey on this earth ended
24	24	far too soon, he will forever hold a special place in the hearts
25	25	of all those who were privileged to share in the blessing of his
26	26	life; now, therefore, be it
27	27	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
28	28	Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Uziyah Sergio
29	29	Garcia and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his
30	30	family: to his parents, Sergio Garcia and Mandy Marie Renfro; to
31	31	his guardians, Brett and Nikki Cross; to his brothers, Aiden and
32	32	Jaxon Cross; to his sisters, Alissa Jackson, Desiaya Garcia, JoJo
33	33	Cross, and Mykah "Mike" Garcia; to his other relatives and
34	34	friends; and to the countless others in Uvalde and beyond who
35	35	mourn his passing; and, be it further
36	36	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
37	37	prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
38	38	this day, it do so in memory of Uziyah Garcia.
