| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Cunningham |

| 6 | 6 | | successfully met a series of requirements emphasizing community |

| 7 | 7 | | service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and |

| 8 | 8 | | leadership skills; as part of that process, she planned and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | implemented a Girl Scout Gold Award project that involved |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | constructing a solar-powered bird oasis at Tyler State Park and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | creating a booklet for park visitors that highlights native and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | migratory birds, food sources, and nesting areas; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | young women to explore career opportunities and to become more |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | citizens and leaders; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Cunningham |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Aspen Cunningham on her receipt |
