11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 610
22 WHEREAS, Aspen Cunningham of Girl Scout Troop No. 1 in
33 Tyler has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this
44 accomplishment truly merits recognition; and
55 WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Cunningham
66 successfully met a series of requirements emphasizing community
77 service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and
88 leadership skills; as part of that process, she planned and
99 implemented a Girl Scout Gold Award project that involved
1010 constructing a solar-powered bird oasis at Tyler State Park and
1111 creating a booklet for park visitors that highlights native and
1212 migratory birds, food sources, and nesting areas; and
1313 WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging
1414 young women to explore career opportunities and to become more
1515 socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its
1616 participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged
1717 citizens and leaders; and
1818 WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Cunningham
1919 has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the
2020 highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect
2121 with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
2323 Legislature, hereby congratulate Aspen Cunningham on her receipt
2424 of the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes
2525 for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
2727 prepared for Ms. Cunningham as an expression of high regard from
2828 the Texas Senate.
