11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 615
22 WHEREAS, The conclusion of the 2022-2023 academic year
33 provides a fitting opportunity to recognize Galveston County's
44 seven independent school district education foundations for
55 their invaluable contributions; and
66 WHEREAS, The Clear Creek Education Foundation, the
77 Friendswood ISD Education Foundation, the Texas City ISD
88 Foundation for the Future, the Galveston ISD Educational
99 Foundation, the Dickinson ISD Education Foundation, the Santa Fe
1010 Texas Education Foundation, and the Hitchcock ISD Education
1111 Foundation collectively work to secure a broad range of resources
1212 for area schools through community-wide partnerships; and
1313 WHEREAS, Among their initiatives, these entities provide
1414 financial support for educational programs and activities, while
1515 recognizing staff excellence and facilitating academic
1616 achievement; structured as tax-exempt nonprofits, the
1717 foundations are managed by a volunteer board of directors
1818 representing local businesses and civic organizations; and
1919 WHEREAS, Galveston County education foundations play an
2020 essential role in equipping school districts with the tools they
2121 need to succeed, and in so doing, they are helping to ensure a
2222 first-rate education for young Texans; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
2424 Legislature, hereby commend Galveston County's independent
2525 school district education foundations and extend to all those
2626 associated with the organizations sincere best wishes for
2727 continued success with their important work.
