| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Clear Creek Education Foundation, the |

| 7 | 7 | | Friendswood ISD Education Foundation, the Texas City ISD |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Foundation for the Future, the Galveston ISD Educational |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Foundation, the Dickinson ISD Education Foundation, the Santa Fe |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Texas Education Foundation, and the Hitchcock ISD Education |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Foundation collectively work to secure a broad range of resources |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | for area schools through community-wide partnerships; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Among their initiatives, these entities provide |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | financial support for educational programs and activities, while |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | recognizing staff excellence and facilitating academic |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | achievement; structured as tax-exempt nonprofits, the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | foundations are managed by a volunteer board of directors |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | representing local businesses and civic organizations; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Galveston County education foundations play an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | essential role in equipping school districts with the tools they |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | need to succeed, and in so doing, they are helping to ensure a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | first-rate education for young Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Galveston County's independent |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | school district education foundations and extend to all those |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | associated with the organizations sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | continued success with their important work. |
