 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Hubert Robinson, who is retiring from Jacksonville
 City Council after 20 years of distinguished service; and
 WHEREAS, Hubert Robinson represented District 1 on the
 city council from May 13, 2003, to May 9, 2023; he served as
 acting mayor from September of 2014 to June of 2015 and served
 three times as mayor pro tempore; and
 WHEREAS, An inspiration to all who knew him, council
 member Robinson led the people of Jacksonville with dedication
 and integrity and sought to address the concerns of his
 constituents; he contributed his efforts to many municipal
 endeavors for the improvement of the city's infrastructure and
 worked to enhance the quality of life for the residents of
 Jacksonville; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, council member Robinson's
 diligence did much to benefit the City of Jacksonville; he was
 involved in many projects, including the construction of a new
 city hall and a public safety complex, the installation of a
 city-wide automated water meter system, and the expansion and
 upgrading of the city's parks; and
 WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Hubert is a member of Sweet
 Union Baptist Church, where he serves as a trustee; devoted to
 his spiritual family and to his constituents, Hubert's effective
 collaboration with colleagues and city officials has helped to
 make Jacksonville a safe and rewarding place to live, work, and
 raise a family; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
 Legislature, hereby commend Hubert Robinson on his years of civic
 leadership and on his service to the people of Jacksonville and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for the future and in all of his
 endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
