| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Hubert Robinson, who is retiring from Jacksonville |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | City Council after 20 years of distinguished service; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Hubert Robinson represented District 1 on the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | city council from May 13, 2003, to May 9, 2023; he served as |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | acting mayor from September of 2014 to June of 2015 and served |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | three times as mayor pro tempore; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, An inspiration to all who knew him, council member |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Robinson led the people of Jacksonville with dedication and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | integrity and sought to address the concerns of his constituents; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | he contributed his efforts to many municipal endeavors for the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | improvement of the city's infrastructure and worked to enhance |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the quality of life for the residents of Jacksonville; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, council member Robinson's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | diligence did much to benefit the City of Jacksonville; he was |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | involved in many projects, including the construction of a new |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | city hall and a public safety complex, the installation of a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | city-wide automated water meter system, and the expansion and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | upgrading of the city's parks; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Hubert is a member of Sweet |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Union Baptist Church, where he serves as a trustee; devoted to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | his spiritual family and to his constituents, Hubert's effective |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | collaboration with colleagues and city officials has helped to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | make Jacksonville a safe and rewarding place to live, work, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | raise a family; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Hubert Robinson on his years of civic |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | leadership and on his service to the people of Jacksonville and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future and in all of his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 33 | 33 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
