| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, When they married, Leonard and Martha Evans made a |

| 3 | 3 | | lifetime commitment to each other, and their mutual trust has |

| 4 | 4 | | been amply rewarded, for they are celebrating their 50th wedding |

| 5 | 5 | | anniversary on May 25, 2023; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Leonard "Junior" Evans and Martha Edwards were |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | wed on May 25, 1973, at Kimball Free Methodist Church in Dallas by |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Pastor Gene Greenwalt; the world has changed considerably during |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the years of their marriage, yet Leonard and Martha have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | continued to cherish the shared values that helped to inspire |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | their bond long ago; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Leonard and Martha have grown |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | stronger in their love and devotion as together they have |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; they raised |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | their daughter Christie by loving example, and their |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | granddaughter Andra has enriched their lives immeasurably; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, As they celebrate their golden wedding |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | anniversary, Leonard and Martha will commemorate 50 years of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | love, partnership, and commitment; their long and happy union is |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | a source of inspiration to their loved ones and many friends, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | they are truly deserving of recognition for achieving this |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | momentous milestone in their marriage; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Leonard and Martha |

| 25 | 25 | | Evans on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be |
