2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize the school nutrition professionals of Edinburg
4	8		Consolidated Independent School District on the occasion of
5	9		School Lunch Hero Day on May 5, 2023; and
6		-	WHEREAS, The provision of nutritious meals for students
7		-	is an essential part of a student's school day; the staff
8		-	~~members of~~ the school meals and nutrition department are
9		-	~~committed to~~ providing healthful, nutritious, and appetizing
10		-	~~meals to the~~ children of Edinburg Consolidated Independent
11		-	~~School District;~~ and
	10	+	WHEREAS, The provision of nutritious meals for students is
	11	+	an essential part of a student's school day; the staff members of
	12	+	the school meals and nutrition department are committed to
	13	+	providing healthful, nutritious, and appetizing meals to the
	14	+	children of Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District;
	15	+	and
12	16		WHEREAS, School Lunch Hero Day offers Edinburg's teachers,
13	17		students, and parents the opportunity to honor and thank the
14	18		outstanding staffs that plan, manage, supply, and prepare a
15	19		variety of meals during breakfast and lunch hours to nourish
16	20		students at all grade levels on every school day; these meals
17	21		strengthen and sustain students through the day and are critical
18	22		to their learning and excelling in the classroom and in their
19	23		recreational activities; and
20	24		WHEREAS, The leaders and staff of Edinburg Consolidated
21	25		Independent School District express their deep appreciation for
22	26		the nutrition professionals, managers, and staffs that dedicate
23	27		their time and energy to planning and preparing school meals to
24	28		Edinburg students; these valued employees are truly deserving of
25	29		recognition for their good work on behalf of the district's
26	30		children; now, therefore, be it
27	31		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
28	32		Legislature, hereby commend the staff of the school meals and
29	33		nutrition department of Edinburg Consolidated Independent School
30	34		District on their many contributions to Edinburg's
31	35		schoolchildren and extend to the department's staff best wishes
32	36		on the occasion of School Lunch Hero Day; and, be it further
33	37		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
34	38		them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
