2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize Benton Tyler Ward for achieving the rank of
4	8		Eagle Scout; and
5	9		WHEREAS, This fine young man is a member of the Boy Scouts
6	10		of America in San Antonio; as he joins the elite corps of Eagles,
7	11		he will receive the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
8	12		WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a
9	13		small percentage of boys in the Scouts BSA program attain the
10	14		rank of Eagle Scout; and
11	15		WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
12	16		promise, Benton advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,
13	17		Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle
14	18		Scout; and
15	19		WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
16	20		through planning, developing, and conducting a service project
17	21		that benefited his community; for his project, Benton led a group
18	22		of scouts and volunteers that built a granite pathway,
19	23		predator-proof chicken coops, and a rabbit hutch at Camp CAMP,
20	24		which is a camp designed for children with special needs, in
21	25		Center Point; he is truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts
22	26		and to the young people of Texas; and
23	27		WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Benton has brought
24	28		great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
25	29		his state; now, therefore, be it
26	30		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
27	31		Legislature, hereby commend Benton Ward on receiving this
28	32		prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
29	33		achievement; and, be it further
30	34		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
31	35		Eagle Scout Ward as an expression of esteem from the Texas
32	36		Senate.
