66 WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by
77 only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by
88 Katie Yurcho of Henrietta heralds a future bright with opportunity
99 and promise; and
1010 WHEREAS, Ms. Yurcho has mastered a number of important skills
1111 in her quest to become an Eagle Scout; she has earned merit badges
1212 requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal
1313 fitness, and environmental science, and she has gained experience
1414 in leadership and teamwork while undertaking her Eagle Scout
1515 project, which involved raising funds and leading volunteers in
1616 building a dog park at Hapgood Park; and
1717 WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has ably served her peers in a
1818 designated position of responsibility, and in so doing, she has
1919 exemplified the many positive traits for which Scouts are renowned;
2020 a student at Henrietta High School, she is a member of the National
2121 Honor Society and has been actively involved in 4-H and the PALs
2222 program; moreover, she has qualified for the All-District Softball
2323 Team, as well as the All-Region Concert Band, and she has further
2424 distinguished herself as drum major for the school band; and
2525 WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for
2626 attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Katie Yurcho has demonstrated
2727 an unwavering commitment to Scouts BSA and its ideals, and the
2828 knowledge and confidence she has acquired along the way will indeed
2929 serve her well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it
3030 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
3131 hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Katie Yurcho on achieving this
3232 prestigious rank and extend to her sincere best wishes for
3333 continued success and happiness.
