| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |

| 7 | 7 | | only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Katie Yurcho of Henrietta heralds a future bright with opportunity |

| 9 | 9 | | and promise; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Yurcho has mastered a number of important skills |

| 11 | 11 | | in her quest to become an Eagle Scout; she has earned merit badges |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fitness, and environmental science, and she has gained experience |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in leadership and teamwork while undertaking her Eagle Scout |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | project, which involved raising funds and leading volunteers in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | building a dog park at Hapgood Park; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has ably served her peers in a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | designated position of responsibility, and in so doing, she has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | exemplified the many positive traits for which Scouts are renowned; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | a student at Henrietta High School, she is a member of the National |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Honor Society and has been actively involved in 4-H and the PALs |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | program; moreover, she has qualified for the All-District Softball |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Team, as well as the All-Region Concert Band, and she has further |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | distinguished herself as drum major for the school band; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Katie Yurcho has demonstrated |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | an unwavering commitment to Scouts BSA and its ideals, and the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | knowledge and confidence she has acquired along the way will indeed |

| 29 | 29 | | serve her well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
