| 4 | 4 | | Valley Legislative Internship Program for their outstanding |

| 5 | 5 | | service to the Texas Legislature; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship |

| 7 | 7 | | Program offers students at The University of Texas Rio Grande |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Valley an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | governmental process and valuable work experience as well as |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | insight into the issues facing our communities and our state |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | today; and |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Each participant is placed with a legislative |

| 13 | 13 | | office and immersed in an environment that combines academic rigor |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | with real-world responsibility; individuals selected for this |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | prestigious program work full-time during the session and complete |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a six-hour political science course for academic credit; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This year's class of interns includes Hector |

| 18 | 18 | | Chapa, who is working in the office of Representative Sergio |

| 19 | 19 | | Muñoz Jr., Zeila Chavez in the office of Senator Judith |

| 20 | 20 | | Zaffirini, Lizette Galaviz in the office of Representative |

| 21 | 21 | | Armando Martinez, Mireya Garcia in the office of Representative |

| 22 | 22 | | Erin Gámez, Roberto Garcia in the office of Representative Terry |
