5+ R E S O L U T I O N
26 WHEREAS, Dustin Marshall is concluding his tenure on the
3- board of the Dallas Independent School District in 2023,
4- following seven years of exemplary service; and
7+ board of the Dallas Independent School District in 2023, following
8+ seven years of exemplary service; and
59 WHEREAS, First elected to represent District 2 in 2016,
6- Mr. Marshall has brought to his role a deep commitment to
7- education reform, a strong focus on research and analysis, and a
8- willingness to listen to all stakeholders; his perspectives have
9- been informed by years of experience volunteering in behalf of
10- education as a tutor, consultant, and fundraiser; he guided his
11- Leadership Dallas class in its decision to build STEM-based
12- "Maker Spaces" in four high schools; moreover, he worked with the
13- Woodrow Wilson High School Community Foundation to open a new
14- reading center, and he served as a member of the foundation's
15- board; and
16- WHEREAS, Mr. Marshall has also given generously of his
17- time and talents to the boards of such organizations as Reading
18- Partners North Texas, Dallas Afterschool, and Uplift Education;
19- in addition, he has been a member of the Education and Workforce
20- Council of the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce, as well as
21- Texas Lyceum, the Mayor's Task Force on Poverty, Entrepreneurs
22- for North Texas, and many other civic groups; he is a recipient of
23- the Dallas Business Journal's "40 Under 40" award and an alumnus
24- of the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program, where he
25- received training from several former U.S. presidents and their
26- senior advisors; and

2830 and logistics company, Mr. Marshall joined the firm in 2011;

3032 Company; as a manager in its Chicago office, he led global
31- consulting teams in their work with Fortune 500 companies; he
32- holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School at
33- the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in business

3638 WHEREAS, Mr. Marshall is a resident of the Preston Hollow
3739 neighborhood; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the support and
3840 encouragement of his wife, Denise; they are the proud parents of
3941 four children, Lilianna, Jackson, Hailey, and Madelyn; and
40- WHEREAS, Through his dedication to the betterment of
41- public education, Dustin Marshall has greatly benefited Dallas
42- ISD and the community it serves, and he may indeed reflect with
43- pride on his outstanding contributions; now, therefore, be it
44- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
45- Legislature, hereby honor Dustin Marshall for his service as a
46- trustee of the Dallas Independent School District and extend to
47- him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
42+ WHEREAS, Through his dedication to the betterment of public
43+ education, Dustin Marshall has greatly benefited Dallas ISD and the
44+ community it serves, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
45+ outstanding contributions; now, therefore, be it
46+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
47+ hereby honor Dustin Marshall for his service as a trustee of the
48+ Dallas Independent School District and extend to him sincere best
49+ wishes for the future; and, be it further
4850 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
49- prepared for Mr. Marshall as an expression of high regard from
50- the Texas Senate.
