| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 in |

| 7 | 7 | | Wichita Falls marked an important milestone when they gathered to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | celebrate their organization's 100th anniversary on December 18, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 2021; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Deriving its name from the Wichita Falls motto at |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the time, "The City That Faith Built," Faith Masonic Lodge formally |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | received its charter from the Grand Lodge of Texas on December 29, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1921; meetings were initially held in a room at the Masonic Temple |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | of Wichita Falls Lodge No. 635, and members later raised funds to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | construct their own lodge; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Throughout its history, Faith Masonic Lodge's |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | members have demonstrated an abiding commitment to the masonic |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | ideals of compassion and charity; over the years, they have made |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | generous donations to fellow citizens in need, and their many other |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | good works have included providing care items to troops stationed |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | overseas, meeting with and offering assistance to military |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | families, and supporting the fundraising efforts of other local |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | organizations; the lodge has provided shelter to survivors of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | natural disasters, and in the aftermath of a devastating tornado in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 1979, members stepped up to give blood and ensure that the injured |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | received the medical help they needed; in recent years, the lodge |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | has continued to give back to the community by hosting blood drives |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and participating in other charitable endeavors; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, In 2016, Faith Masonic Lodge merged with Megargel |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Lodge No. 1038; in May 2021, the lodge consolidated with Joseph A. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Kemp Lodge No. 1287, bringing its membership to 326 Master Masons |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | as it approached its 100th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, The members of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 have |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | maintained a proud tradition of service, honor, and brotherhood |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | that has spanned several generations, and it is a privilege to join |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | in recognizing the rich history of this venerable organization; |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | hereby commemorate the centennial of Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 |

| 40 | 40 | | and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, |

| 41 | 41 | | be it further |

| 42 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 43 | 43 | | prepared for the lodge as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
