| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as |

| 5 | 5 | | one of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this |

| 6 | 6 | | much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across |

| 7 | 7 | | Texas; these accomplished pitmasters put their skills to the test |

| 8 | 8 | | as they vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | categories; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Proceeds from the contest will benefit the |

| 11 | 11 | | Children's Advocacy Centers of Cameron and Willacy Counties; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and |

| 13 | 13 | | the Harlingen Police Department BBQ Cook-off is sure to offer |

| 14 | 14 | | everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good |

| 15 | 15 | | times while supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it |

| 16 | 16 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 17 | 17 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the sixth annual Harlingen |

| 18 | 18 | | Police Department BBQ Cook-off and extend to the organizers, |

| 19 | 19 | | participants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and |

| 20 | 20 | | successful event; and, be it further |
