No. 685 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Kathi Seay is retiring as the policy and legislative director in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in 2023; and WHEREAS, A stay-at-home mom for many years, Ms. Seay discovered her passion for public policy through her involvement with the Katy Independent School District; after moving to the Round Rock and Georgetown area in 1992, she began volunteering for the Texas Conservative Coalition, which she later served as executive director, and she cofounded the Patriot Academy, a nonprofit that mentors young adults on the legislative process; in 1993, she won election to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, Ms. Seay joined the staff of the Texas Legislature in 2003, when she went to work for State Representative Frank Corte Jr.; she subsequently enjoyed a successful tenure with State Representative David Simpson before taking a position in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in 2016; over the years, her resourcefulness and initiative have earned the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to carrying forth Senator Hall's legislative agenda have helped address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Seay has drawn strength from a rewarding marriage with her husband, Jerry, and she takes great pride in her three children, Stormi, Kristi, and Matthew, and three grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, and Remington; and WHEREAS, Kathi Seay's dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence have greatly benefited her fellow Texans, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Kathi Seay on retiring as the policy and legislative director in the office of State Senator Bob Hall and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Seay as an expression of high regard by the Texas Senate.
