2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Kathi Seay is retiring as the policy and |

3 | 3 | | legislative director in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in |

4 | 4 | | 2023; and |

5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A stay-at-home mom for many years, Ms. Seay |
---|
6 | 6 | | discovered her passion for public policy through her involvement |
---|
7 | 7 | | with the Katy Independent School District; after moving to the |
---|
8 | 8 | | Round Rock and Georgetown area in 1992, she began volunteering for |
---|
9 | 9 | | the Texas Conservative Coalition, which she later served as |
---|
10 | 10 | | executive director, and she cofounded the Patriot Academy, a |
---|
11 | 11 | | nonprofit that mentors young adults on the legislative process; in |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1993, she won election to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Seay joined the staff of the Texas |
---|
14 | 14 | | Legislature in 2003, when she went to work for State |
---|
15 | 15 | | Representative Frank Corte Jr.; she subsequently enjoyed a |
---|
16 | 16 | | successful tenure with State Representative David Simpson before |
---|
17 | 17 | | taking a position in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in 2016; |
---|
18 | 18 | | over the years, her resourcefulness and initiative have earned |
---|
19 | 19 | | the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to |
---|
20 | 20 | | carrying forth Senator Hall's legislative agenda have helped |
---|
21 | 21 | | address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Seay has drawn strength |
---|
23 | 23 | | from a rewarding marriage with her husband, Jerry, and she takes |
---|
24 | 24 | | great pride in her three children, Stormi, Kristi, and Matthew, |
---|
25 | 25 | | and three grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, and Remington; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Kathi Seay's dedication, professionalism, and |
---|
27 | 27 | | commitment to excellence have greatly benefited her fellow |
---|
28 | 28 | | Texans, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
---|
29 | 29 | | spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; |
---|
30 | 30 | | now, therefore, be it |

31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

32 | 32 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Kathi Seay on retiring as the |

33 | 33 | | policy and legislative director in the office of State Senator |

34 | 34 | | Bob Hall and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; |
