5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm drew to a |

6 | 6 | | close with the passing of MaryEllen Massey Moore on December 16, |

7 | 7 | | 2022, at the age of 89; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The former MaryEllen Massey was born on December |

9 | 9 | | 31, 1932, to Mel J. Massey and Anna E. Kondusky Massey; she was |

10 | 10 | | raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where she graduated from St. Stephen |

11 | 11 | | High School; and |

12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, This beloved woman was a talented athlete, and in |
---|
13 | 13 | | her last decade, she was a member of the Row Tribe rowing team of |
---|
14 | 14 | | Westlake; she set the world and national indoor record for the |
---|
15 | 15 | | 2,000-meter row event in the 85-to-89 age group; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Moore enjoyed the love |
---|
17 | 17 | | and support of her husband, Vernon Moore, whom she met while |
---|
18 | 18 | | playing golf; they became the proud parents of eight children, |
---|
19 | 19 | | Anne, MaryClare, Patrick, Murray, Rita, Thomas, Daniel, and |
---|
20 | 20 | | Adele, and shared a rewarding marriage that spanned half a |
---|
21 | 21 | | century before Mr. Moore's death in 2006; with the passage of |

22 | 22 | | time, Mrs. Moore experienced the joy of welcoming 24 |

23 | 23 | | grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren into her treasured |
